Sponsorship & Fundraising Committee
Supports:
All Positions
Purpose:
The Sponsorship & Fundraising Committee supports the financial sustainability of the league by developing and managing partnerships, sponsorships, and fundraising initiatives. This committee plays a key role in securing resources that allow the league to operate, grow, and fulfill its mission as a nonprofit junior roller derby organization.
Committee members work collaboratively to identify potential sponsors, maintain positive relationships with local businesses and community partners, and create sponsorship packages that align with the league’s values. The committee also seeks out additional fundraising opportunities such as donation drives, and grant opportunities. This committee will work closely with the Outreach & Recruitment Committee Head as needed when there is overlap on fundraising opportunities, as the Outreach & Recruitment Committee is responsible for various community outreach events that the league participates in throughout the year (i.e. Round Rock Pride, other outside vendor events, etc. that fall out of the definition of fundraising).
In addition to generating revenue, the Sponsorship & Fundraising Committee helps promote the league by representing it professionally in the community, communicating the impact of financial support, and ensuring sponsors and donors feel valued and recognized.
Responsibilities:
- Developing sponsorship proposals and fundraising strategies
- Outreach to local businesses, organizations, and individual donors to secure in-kind and financial donations/sponsorships
- Planning and staffing fundraising events and campaigns (some past examples include participation in Amplify Austin, Double Good popcorn fundraiser, skate-a-thons)
- Coordinating sponsor benefits, recognition, and fulfillment, in conjunction with other members of the league/board/committees as needed, such as those responsible for league social media and website content
- Tracking fundraising progress and maintaining accurate records, coordinating with the board Treasurer as needed
- Collaborating with other league committees to align financial goals
This committee is ideal for members who enjoy community engagement and networking, relationship-building, and who want to directly support the league’s long-term success.
