SUMMARY:2027 Charter Team Tryouts!
DESCRIPTION:       \n  \nHello skaters! Rockin City Junior Roller Derby is excited to host you for our 2027 tryouts! \nSaturday\, September 12 is the main tryout\, but if you can’t make it we can accommodate you at another regular practice time (Tuesdays 7-8:30pm; Saturdays 9:30-noon). Please complete this form (skater and parent together) BEFORE the tryout date. \n\nWe are looking to build on our success from last season:\nA-team = 2nd place at JRDA PLAYOFFS!\nB-team = 3rd place at B-TEAM CHAMPS!\nWe have a full\, returning coaching squad including Coaches Sinner\, Sid\, $O$\, S-Pain\, and Mr. G and potentially even more coaching help to add to our staff!\nOur league is planning to host 2 regular season tournaments in the Austin area this season! Our A-team will likely travel to 2 out-of-area tournaments and our B-team may travel to 1-2 out-of-area tournaments.\nWe plan to go to JRDA playoffs and B-team Champs!\nWe are looking for skaters that are interested in having fun while working hard. We want skaters that are interested in doing their best while working to bring up those around them in a positive and supportive environment. Derby is the truest team-sport and we believe that we are stronger together.\n\n\n \nTRYOUT DATES\, TIMES & LOCATION\n(please arrive 15 minutes before the start time in order to get geared up)\n \nSaturday\, September 12 from 9:30am – noon\nat Rock Sports Arena\n3918 Gattis School Rd #102\, Round Rock\, TX 78664\n\n\nPLEASE BRING\n– Black AND white jerseys with your number on the back\n– Your number clearly displayed on your arms\n– Skates\n– Helmet\n– Mouthguard\n– Pads: Knee\, elbow\, wrist guards\n– Water bottle\n– Snack (we suggest a banana\, granola bar or similar)\n\n>>> Our floor is sport court – younger skaters like soft wheels (poison savants – 88) our older/bigger skaters like harder wheels (91-95 or a mix of those)\n\n\nSEASON ATTENDANCE\n\nPractices for charter teams are Tuesdays 7-8:30pm (local skaters) and Saturdays 9:30am-noon (local & satellites) \nWe work to be welcoming to all skaters\, including satellites — we want to support our southern U.S. skaters with a competitive travel team option. We love for all of our skaters to attend as many practices as possible with minimums of 50% of all practices for local skaters and 25% of Saturdays for satellite skaters. But\, we understand that you have lives and that you may be more busy at different parts of the season so our attendance policy is very forgiving. \nAdditional information is provided at the form linked above.

SUMMARY:Quad Squad Info Session
DESCRIPTION:Have you ever been curious about junior roller derby? Here’s your chance to learn more about our introductory class to get you rollin’ on your new journey! \nJoin us on September 12th at 10:00am to learn more. \nDuring our info session\, coaches and members of our league will be able to answer questions you may have about the program\, our league\, associated fees\, the level progression for skaters\, etc. During the Fall info session on September 12th\, we will simultaneously be hosting our Level 3 charter team tryouts\, so your skaters may have an opportunity to see some of the skills that our higher-level\, full-contact skaters have learned throughout their derby experience. \nQUAD SQUAD (age 8+) is an introductory class consisting of 6 sessions covering basic skating skills needed for derby: \nStride/balance/agility\nFalling safely\nStops\nSpeed (timed laps)\nIntroduction to roller derby (no contact) \nQuad Squad sessions are held on Saturday mornings from 8:30am – 9:30am for six weeks. \nPlease RSVP so we know to expect you on September 12th! \nClasses for our Fall Session will begin on September 19th.
